Bonnie Spector together with her husband Brian Spector, is the proud owner of South Florida Dance Company. She trained in dance throughout high school and early college. She has extensive knowledge organizing and managing stage productions for Port St. Lucie High School Dance Department, Wings to Fly Dance Company, and South Florida Dance Company. In addition to dance, she performed in local community theatre productions with the former Shiloh Theatrical Productions with her first performance as a corps dancer in Pippin.
She has turned her focus in dance towards coaching Team SFDC competition team and also writing, directing, and staging theatrical shows for both the Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce and the Lyric Theatre in Downtown Stuart. The local productions that are most notable include: ‘A Christmas Carol’, ‘Cinderella’, ‘The Little Mermaid’, and the company’s newest holiday production, ‘A Spectacular Christmas’ debuting this December at the Lyric Theatre.
Her production and choreography stories such as ‘In The Beginning’ have won 1st place Overall scores, Entertainment Awards, Costume Awards, and Special Judges Awards at multiple regional Competitions and recently at Believe National Dance Competition with ‘My Strongest Suit’.
In addition, Bonnie and Brian love to give back to the community doing what they love best. In 2025, together with a team of parents and staff, they competed in Elv8 Hope’s Lip Sync Battle where they won 1st place title and the coveted Champion Belt with an invitation to return in 2026 as the show opener. They helped to raise over $350,000 for the local non for profits Elev8 Hope and Rina’s House of Blessings. They cannot wait to participate again!
The creative and artistic side of dance and theatre is what she enjoys most about the industry. Organizing music, lighting, costumes, and dance to tell a clear story is a challenge she loves to take on. She believes that dance is a universal language that can be shared by everyone young and old regardless of language differences or cultural barriers. Dance and Theatre through good storytelling brings people together. We can all appreciate a well written story and get lost in the music through the art of dance. She hopes to share her passion and beliefs with every student that trains with South Florida Dance Company and the audience beyond.
