Ballet Tap Combo is the best entry level class for the young dancer. It is a beginner level cross style training class offered at our studio.
This class combines early ballet and tap technique and terminology. It consists of approximately two combined 45 minute classes of ballet and tap instruction. Students will learn new terminology and technique every week that will build upon previously taught skills from our Preschool Ballet class.
The first years of dance are the most crucial and none more important than that of Ballet! Ballet is the pinnacle of all dance genres that we know of and love to watch. This is where dancers lay a sturdy foundation of proper dance terminology coupled with the appropriate use of terminology.
The dance technique and fundamentals taught at a beginner level will prove most important as dancers advance through the levels. Without a proper technical foundation, dancers can struggle later in higher levels.
It is important to note that we have set a high standard when employing our beginner level Ballet instructors. We take pride in the credentials held by our entire faculty.
We have always believed that in order to produce quality dancers, we must employ only the most highly qualified instructors to teach the foundational level classes at our studio. Rest assured your tiny dancer is receiving the best instruction in Ballet Tap Combo offered in the Tri-county area.
The other half of of this class is equally important. Tap teaches Musicality and rhythm which, as they sound, are very important for dancers to master to be successful in all styles of dance. This is why we pair it with ballet early on. It offers much more than the excitement of changing shoes, upbeat music, and fun costume choices.
It trains the dancers ear from the beginning to listen to the beat and properly complete the brain to body circuit. So many senses fire at once and come together by listening for the different beats in music, tapping to that beat, and putting it all together for the most adorable performance at the end of the season.
It is common for students to stay in the Ballet Tap Combo level for a couple of years. This remains true for all leveled classes. This is to ensure that dancers have mastered the material according to our rubric guidelines and is necessary in order to advance to the next level. Watch this video of class time.
